🎙️ Vision Pro Next Week, CES, and My New Tech Podcast!
The New Year has brought huge tech news across the entire industry, from AI gadgets to smart home innovations, and Apple dropping arguably the biggest product of the year next week!
New Podcast!
Before we get into the news, you can hear about everything on my new tech podcast! Primary Technology is available everywhere, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and you can watch on YouTube!
My good friend Jason Aten is joining me every week, and new episodes are published every Thursday. Except for next week, as we’ll record after Apple Vision Pro pre-orders…but we’ll get to that in a moment!
If you enjoy the show, we would greatly appreciate a 5-Star rating and review in Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and a subscription on YouTube.
Apple Vision Pro
Earlier this week, Apple announced that its mixed-reality headset, Apple Vision Pro will be available to pre-order on Friday, January 19 and available in stores on February 2. Apple is claiming this begins the age of Spatial Computing.
I’m excited, not gonna lie. But I have yet to try it and aside from amazing movie watching experiences, I’m genuinely curious what productive or creative use cases I will find useful in AR / VR. Maybe editing podcasts, videos? We’ll see in just a few weeks!
We discuss Apple Vision Pro in both episodes two and three of Primary technology, but details about the pre-order process are coming out every day. For those with a vision prescription, you will need to upload a non-expired version of your Rx upon pre-order for custom ZEISS inserts.
You will also need a Face ID device nearby in order to scan your head for proper size accessories that come with Apple Vision Pro, like the dual head bands and Light Seal guards.
Limited supply also elude to launch-day units going out of stock quickly. But I’ll be there at 8:00am ET trying my hardest to get an Apple Vision Pro at launch!
CES 2024
In addition to info on Apple Vision Pro, I roundup the most meaningful tech announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. There’s a lot of outlandish devices too, which I discuss in the video below, but Qi2 wireless battery packs, smart home advances, and a fascinating MagSafe dock that tracks your face through iPhone are all worth a look.
AI Gadgets and Looking to WWDC
Of all the gadgets at CES, companies putting AI in everything is the most ridiculous. The video above I explain why many of these devices, even the beautifully engineered Rabbit R1, are likely to fail. Especially when Apple finally empowers Siri with large-language model tech.
Overall, I’m excited for a great year in tech, from Apple Vision Pro, weird AI gadgets, and new smart home innovations. Plus, we just hit 50K subscribers on YouTube! Thank you to everyone listening, watching, and reading, will keep it up through 2024.
