Adding Wireless Apple CarPlay Experience to an Older Car: Carpuride 901 Review

Here’s how you can add wireless Apple CarPlay to older cars using the Carpuride 901. This amazing device has allowed me to bring wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to my car, which I honestly never thought would be possible.

After using it for several weeks, I have to say that I'm genuinely impressed. My Kia Soul had Bluetooth capabilities, but it was often flaky and unreliable. This Carpuride 901, however, supports wireless CarPlay, meaning I don't need to connect my iPhone with a physical cable.

Setting up the Carpuride was a breeze, and it automatically connects to my iPhone every time I turn on the car. The device also comes with various mounting options, including a CD player adapter and a dash suction cup, so you can choose the one that suits you best. I opted for the CD player adapter, and it has remained sturdy despite my car's not-so-smooth ride.

In terms of audio, the Carpuride 901 has a built-in FM transmitter, but I decided to use a hardwired connection for better sound quality. I also love the responsive nine-inch touchscreen, which allows me to easily access all my CarPlay apps. The device even has a USB port, an SD card slot, and Android Auto support, making it incredibly versatile.

One of my favorite features is the CarPlay integration with my smart home devices. As I approach my house, my HomeKit-enabled garage door opener appears on the CarPlay screen, allowing me to open and close the garage with a simple tap. It also has a built-in microphone that offers better call quality than my car's original system.

While exploring CarPlay apps, I found a few interesting ones, such as the Panera Bread app that lets you order food directly from your screen. I also discovered that you can manage your CarPlay app library from your iPhone settings, allowing you to customize which apps appear on the screen and their order.

Overall, I highly recommend the Carpuride 901 touchscreen device for those with older cars looking to upgrade to wireless CarPlay without resorting to aftermarket installations. It's been a game-changer for me, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to give it a try.
