The Bag
Over the years, I've experimented with numerous bags. A notable mention is the Peak Designs bag, excellent for camera and photo gear. But for this trip, I'm opting for the Waterfield Pro Executive Backpack. Its compact size fits perfectly under the seat, giving me extra foot room. I love that it remains upright when placed on the ground. It also conveniently features a slot for the carry-on handle, allowing me to roll it around with my luggage. Plus, it has a plethora of pockets, which I will delve into as we move forward.
Tech Gadgets Galore
Being a work trip, I need my arsenal of tech gadgets: my laptop, iPad, iPhone. Since I may end up recording a podcast or making a video, I’m bringing my 14-inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro – a real powerhouse. I love it for editing videos and the convenience of the built-in SD card slot.
As for the iPad, I'm debating between bringing my iPad mini with Apple Pencil and my M2 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard. The iPad mini is fantastic for editing podcasts and watching movies on the plane, but the iPad Pro is tempting too. I'm contemplating whether to bring all three devices, but the bag might get heavy, so that's something to consider.
Accessory Department
My accessory pocket has an assortment of chargers and other items. First off, I've got my AirPods Max in their Waterfield case. Considering the long flight (about 11 to 12 hours), I'm bringing my AirPods Pro 2 for comfort as well.
Next up is my main charger for the trip – the ESR 3-in-1 travel charger. I also have a bag full of travel chargers and cables. Being a podcaster, I'm bringing my Shure MV7 microphone as well.
Charging Gear
To cater to my charging needs on the move, I have the Anker 60 watt GAN charger, a USB-C cable, a USB-C to Lightning cable, and a USB-C to MagSafe charger in the quick-access pocket. I’ve also got a couple of battery packs for redundancy, including Apple's MagSafe battery pack and one from Mophie. There’s also a place for my keys and a holder for my SD cards.
Travel Essentials
One of the essential items is my passport. I found a neat passport wallet with a slot for an AirTag. It helps to keep track of the passport and even has space for several credit cards, so it's quite handy. I also have another passport wallet, which I liked for its design but ultimately went with the first due to its practicality.
Charging Solutions
For charging my Apple Watch Ultra, iPhone, and AirPods, I'll be using ESR's 3-in-1 travel charger, which comes in a slim form factor and includes a carrying case. It won’t take up much space, so it's perfect for travel. For international charging, I have Apple’s World Travel Adapter Kit, which comes with different adapters for various countries, and also some simple converters.
