Download Any Video with Downie + Transloader
Ever found a video online that you wanted to save to your iPhone? This guide introduces two powerful apps that make downloading videos from the internet to your iPhone a breeze.
Downie is a versatile app developed by Charlie Monroe Software, enabling you to download a wide range of videos from the internet to your Mac. It supports various websites, including news platforms and social media.
How to Use Downie:
Copy the Video URL: Just copy the website URL hosting the video or the social media post
Selecting the Destination: I recommend saving Downie files to the desktop for easy iCloud syncing. You can set this up in the app preferences.
Choosing from Multiple Videos: Downie lets you select specific videos to download when a page has several. Use the in-app browser to extract the video you want.
Wide Compatibility: Downie efficiently handles downloads from numerous websites.
Transloader syncs your Mac and iPhone, allowing seamless video downloads. Available for $10 on both the Mac App Store and iOS App Store, it uses iCloud for syncing, so no separate account is needed.
Setting Up Transloader:
Install on Both Devices: Run Transloader on your iPhone and Mac.
Configure Settings: Choose preferences like auto-start on login and prevent sleep during downloads.
Automate Downloads: In the Actions tab, set up a link action to send URLs to Downie automatically.
Downloading Videos on Your iPhone Using Transloader
Transloader simplifies the process on your iPhone:
Copy the Video Link: Share and copy the video link from the website.
Open Transloader: Paste the link and select the Mac for downloading.
Sync and Download: The link goes to your Mac, gets downloaded via Downie, and then syncs to iCloud Drive.
